A few weeks ago, we officially announced the commissioning of our photovoltaic system through our channels.
We are very keen to talk about our experience. In fact, we hope it can be useful to anyone approaching this world, or considering the use of alternative energies.
BMP & THE ENVIRONMENT
Environmental awareness and the impact of industrial activities on the planet are topics of great interest to BMP.
Over the years, our environmental commitment has led to practical actions. For instance, we first switched to recycled paper and, in the last three years, moved toward becoming almost entirely paper-free.
Moreover, we have preferred renewable energy for the last 15 years while improving our waste management.
This commitment also reflects an ethical responsibility. Humanity — and BMP as part of it — must protect the planet for future generations and all forms of life.
Therefore, our approach responds to today’s environmental challenges. It seeks to balance development and sustainability to ensure the planet’s health and people’s well-being.
THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
The panels were initially installed in late spring 2023. Unfortunately, a violent hailstorm hit our region shortly before the system was switched on, destroying almost all the modules.
This setback forced us to restart the installation process.
At the end of 2023, the 365 modules of the current system were installed on the roof of our production site in Via Saronnino. Just a few weeks ago, the system finally became operational.
THE STRUCTURE
An 873 m² steel and aluminum frame supports all modules. The system is semi-integrated into the factory roof.
With a peak power of 180.68 kW/p, the plant produces 1050 kWh/kWp annually. As a result, it prevents the release of 90,500 kg of CO₂ and significantly reduces our dependence on fossil energy sources.
