BMP: 30 years of experience in industrial cutting<\/strong><\/p>\n

BMP was born in 1992 as a third-party processing company. Thirty years ago, we were mainly involved in cutting and rewinding materials owned by our customers. But what about today?<\/p>\n

The 5 BMP industrial lathes and their main functions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Today, we are equipped with 5 lathes whose functions are divided as follows:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1) Transformation or converting<\/strong>
Just like in the beginning, our lathes cut materials owned by customers who buy or produce large logs but cannot convert them independently at competitive costs.<\/p>\n

2) Sale of finished products<\/strong>
In this case, BMP purchases the raw material from the supplier and takes care of cutting and reselling it to the end user. This is ideal for customers who cannot purchase directly from manufacturers due to high minimum order quantities or who need small quantities of customized rolls. For example, private customers can buy through our e-commerce.<\/a><\/p>\n

3) Internal processing<\/strong>
Our production department cuts rolls to reduce their size and prepare them for die-cutting processes. Most die-cutting machines have a work surface between 175 and 700 mm. Therefore, large rolls must be reduced accordingly.<\/p>\n

How the lathe works<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The lathe is a machine with a rather simple operation: a large rotating blade, constantly sharpened, cuts a roll fixed on a rotating shaft.<\/p>\n

Challenges depending on material type<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, a simple process may not be free from challenges. The most important variable is the nature of the material: plastic films, foam tapes, thin double-sided adhesives, acrylic foams, bonded or laminated materials, fibers, metals \u2014 each reacts differently to the blade.<\/p>\n

Some of our lathes are perfect for cutting thin double-sided adhesives and plastic films, others are ideal for cutting foams, still others for the most difficult materials (such as fibers and metals).<\/p>\n

The operator’s experience and the efficiency of the machine guarantee cutting precision with tolerances below half a millimeter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The competence of our operators is required not only during processing but also in the design of customized machinery for our needs. This is the case of the \u201cRevolver lathe<\/u><\/strong>\u201d, a particular cutting tool with two shafts instead of one.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the double shaft, while the blade is cutting, the operator can perform other tasks such as loading a new reel on the free shaft or unloading the already cut rolls. This allows to avoid the classic “dead times” allowing the operator to optimize his work.The machine gains in efficiency and productivity by offering us the possibility of guaranteeing customers more competitive prices.<\/p>\n
